How do I work the "dead drop" thing? 12 hints left

Hint 1

After you get into Bridget's room and break into her cell phone --

Hint 2

-- you see some cryptic comments that refer to a drop, which Nancy calls a dead drop. A dead drop, in case you haven't heard the term before, refers to the espionage technique of leaving things somewhere secure for another spy to pick up. It's "dead" because the two spies never meet.

Hint 3

In this case, the message tells you to look "behind the words of Burns." If you've been looking at things closely, you might have noticed a plaque close by with a quote from Robert Burns on it.

Hint 4

Like on the bench in the hotel courtyard, right next to the deli where you've been making all those cookies. Go down there and take a look at it.

Hint 5

First you need a screwdriver to get that plaque off. You might have one in your inventory --

-- but if not, go back to Giffnock and look on the windowsill of the restaurant.

Hint 7

When the plaque is removed, you see a rather odd array of red things that Nancy refers to as a rack of canisters. Well, okay.

Hint 8

The message you find inside the bench's little niche tells you (or rather Bridget) to get a blue bag, put 35 pounds in it, and drop it in the trash bin next to the deli. You can buy a blue bag from the souvenir stand in the train station, the thing at the bottom right that looks like an apron --

-- if you have 12 pounds, that is. And you'll need 35 pounds to put inside it too, so make more cookies if you're short. Drop the bag in the trash, then you might as well talk to Bridget --

Hint 10

-- and find out something interesting about her. At the end of this conversation, she scoots; check the trash bin, and the blue bag has been replaced with --

Hint 11

-- some rather odd dark glasses. You know, it'd probably be really dumb to wear use them just to keep from squinting, I'm thinking.

Hint 12

Let's go take the glasses to Ewan to check out. Go do some other stuff for a while and check back with him later to get the glasses back.
