How do I open the chemicals cabinet? 5 hints left

Hint 1

This is a smaller, simpler version of the power puzzle you solved on the first night. So why is it so much harder? Read to the end of this hint for the way I solved it.

Hint 2

The way this works is that every light you push also affects the lights above and on both sides, in a + pattern. The goal is to have all nine lights blue.

Hint 3

One strategy here is to plan to leave a + pattern of lights, if you can. Try click just around the edges to leave a red plus in the center, then click in the center to take it out.

But any way you do this is the right way, no matter how long it takes. Here's how I did it.
